Our “Wine & Food Camp” – based in a private, authentic Finca , the stylish “Rocha’s House” with 6 charming double rooms with ensuite bathrooms/toilet , finca centre stylishly steup in portugese marble- is located to the north of the estuary of Sado which flows into the Atlantic Ocean in the peaceful solitude near to the village of Poceirao, embeded in vinyards, 20 minutes by car from the picturesque port city of Setubal and the Arrábida Nature Reserve, 40 minutes by car from Lisbon airport.

Southern Portuguese lifestyle in culinary lockdown.
Experience passionate market visits at the lively and colourful “Mercado do Livramento” in Setúbal. A legendary trading-point for freshly caught fish & seafood as well as regional meat, poultry, and vegetable specialties. On the beach and on the grounds of our private Finca, we stage hedonistic seafood feasts with lobsters, langoustines, shrimps, sea spiders, mussels, and snails and celebrate open log fires by the Finca pool, along with authentic Portuguese fish, meat, and vegetables from the region.
At the pool-side-grill, we prepare everything from fresh tuna, sardines, makarels and sea bream to rabbits, lamb, and country chicken to juicy entrecôtes of Portuguese cattle. Artichokes, salad hearts, and much more! (…just to mention some of the various greens too!) In the course of the daily celebration of regional specialities on log fires you will also experience the traditional preparation of octopus and calamar and of course bacalhao (traditionally salted cod). We also showcase “caldeira” a national fish & seafood stew, prepared in the traditional “cataplana”.
With our 20 m high end catamaran “Jasmin”we not only go swimming and enjoy an opulent picnic on the Atlantic, but we also sail “far out” with our wooden traditional fishing boat (for those who want to join) to regional fishing grounds before sunrise, deep-sea fishing for sea bream, red snappers, and mackerel .
In the bay of Setúbal, which had been officially awarded as one of the most beautiful bays in the world, on the waters right at the estuary of river Sado we will very closely introduce you to the dolphin protection project “golfinhos de Sado”, where since over 20 years Maria Jao Fonseca and Pedro Narra passionatyely accompany, protect and document the life of a dolphin community in their natural habitat.
In the ancient winery “Heredade Pegos Claros”, we culinarily showcase from 70 and 100 years old vinyards Castelao, the traditional grape variety of the region “Peninsula de Setubal” and “DOC Palmela” as well as the traditional specialty Moscatel Roxo handcrafted from different producers. We also take in interpretations of international grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Shiraz to accompany our authentic culinary extravagances.
Always with you and “on board”, a wide selection of regional wine specialties, ice-cold Portuguese beer, a selection of fine gins, tonic, and water.

This journey is accompanied and staged by the international “wine & food Edutainer” Roland Birr (oenologist).

We are also happy to coordinate and book flights according to your wishes and specifications.
We deliberately keep the group sizes small – max. 8-10 participants per group, min 5 participants.
On individual request and with an extra charge, we organise beach rides on horseback riding from the nearby horse stud farm or your personal golf day in the Montado Golf Resort, 5 km away.
The Taste & Travel trip “Authentic Setúbal Portugal” takes place on fixed dates, but can also be booked individually for closed groups.
